Also it holds the distinction of being the only British main line steam locomotive marked for preservation from the date of construction and it was the 999th locomotive made by British Railways. It holds 9 tons of fuel, with a weight of 86 tons, and an over all length of 66ft 2in.

Well you know me and research; it turns out that the Evening Star, aside from being the planet Venus, in 1960 was the last steam locomotive to be built by British Railways.
